We welcome submissions for any section on ay site either as complete pages or as email sections of text that we can convert to sections of pages or individual paragraphs.
If you are proposing to produce a large page or collection of pages on a topic, please check with us first, as it would be a great shame if three people were to all produce the same material at the same time and we were unable to use two of them.
These projects only work because of the support that you and others give, and of course we very much appreciate it. You will however appreciate that like any publication we have to have an editor who will select what appears and may on occasions make changes to information before to appears. As few people can write of beliefs or views across al the traditions it is helpful to always start any article by very briefly mentioning the tradition this is representing.
Actual submission could not be easier as all you do is send an email with a paragraph at the front explaining what follows and we do everything from their. If you want to produce more complex material, then fine, and you can suggest what you have. We put the sites together within front page, but information or pages could come from any source.
Pre-agreed material should be emailed to "publisher @ school-of-witchcraft.org", suggestions, questions or material you just would like to send in should be emailed to "tutors @ school-of-witchcraft.org" . Leave out the spaces before and after the @, these have been added to try to foil the email harvesting robots.
www.school-of-whichcraft.com please visit, if you have not already. there are two main sections reference and course.
The reference section attempts to collate by topic all the information, views and beliefs and other information across all traditions. In some cases you may feel you can add an entry or expand one already in existence, while on other occasions, you may feel that you could add a paragraph. We welcome as much input as you are able to put in. If you feel we have misrepresented something or some information is wrong then please email us, we will then check it out and/or discuss the views you have with advisory board members and make changes when we feel necessary. You do not need to concern yourself with our framing system on this site, if you produce the information, we will format and link it all up. Where you want a hyperlink, just underline the text and include a separate list of hyperlinks explaining what you want linked to where. This can include our existing pages, and definitions.
The course is build from the reference section, and by input from individual tutors. We are not attempting within the course to cover everything that is covered in the reference section, and on occasions not all views or traditions will be covered. Each segment of the course, the equivalent to what would be posted out in a package on a correspondence course, perhaps a weeks work, contains a Varity of topics. We are pleased to hear from individuals who feel they can handle a topic section from within a segment,. we do not expect volunteers to take on a whole segment. Topic section s can be split to carry on a theme across several segments when necessary.
www.book-of-shadows.org The link to everything to do with witchcraft.
This is a portal and we want to link to every type of site that may be of direct interest, however its not intended to turn into a general portal and we would refer you to www.start-page.co.uk for a general portal that would welcome your help, and one that we will be co-operating with.
In some ways you might look at the contents forming 4 sections, witchcraft sites, individuals books of shadows, suppliers of witchcraft items and book reviews.
The book section lists a book, and brief details expanding into a review and outline of contents. This is the section where we need the most help. The book review should be positive, by this we mean we concentrate on the good points and don't point out what we might think we would have put in. We need to say from what viewpoint it was written, and the level it is aimed at, ie beginners, intermediate or detailed knowledge. The outline of contents, is more like a revision section to go with a book than a list of contents that would appear in the beginning of a book. The objective being to cover the ground covered by the book in highlight terms only. This is a balancing act, it ideally should be detailed enough for the user to appreciate the points raised and content, but not either so large as to become a book in its own right or to breach copy write. there is no copy write on facts or ideas only on layout and word structure. This overview has three uses, for the person who has read the book it forms the equivalent of lecture notes to go with a lecture, for the person considering reading it it gives enough detail to allow you to decide if its one you should read, remembering we all cannot read every book, and thirdly for the course maker or writer of the reference section on www.school-of-witchcraft.com, it identifies where information can be found that should be reviewed before writing a topic section.
Portal pages, linking to other sites also need reviews, and we hope to expand these sections over time. Again any ideas or help is always appreciated.
